How to create good drama?

i have a drama exam coming up soon. the piece is on evacuation: 4 children sent to country from different backgrounds, hosts husband missing in action, all the famous churchill speeches etc. etc... any advice on how to make it stand out to the examiner: any techniques, further ideas? any suggestions would be fab! xx
