Is it okay to star serious emotional questions?

I tried to answer a couple of serious questions that dealt with relationships. I've noticed that on some really serious questions, like where the questioner is laying out their heart, that no one stars. I thought that maybe their is some sort of etiquette because it seemed unusual that no one gave stars. Or was this just coincidence?
